It's that time of the year again, hot on the heels of the Venice international film festival and Toronto International Film Festivals where the big studios and A-listers have their World Premieres, the predictions will come thick and fast for the start of award season.
So this year we thought we'd start earlier and make a few predictions for the best documentary of the year, there's always going to be a late dark horse entry, but with the leaves falling it's time we start considering what sort of a year it's been for non-fiction. Obviously there are a number of Dogwoof releases that we think should take home the golden man, but the lists below are a quick predictions poll from the office, and despite being under one roof we all have very different tastes, tell us what you think, any glaring omissions?
20 Feet from Stardom
The Act of Killing
The Crash Reel
Cutie and the Boxer
The long shot that gets shortlisted
Gasland Part 2 (a documentary sequel is a rare thing, and one that gets two Oscar nods, unheard of)
The big box office hit that misses out
One Direction: This is Us
The years most controversial miss-outs
We Steal Secrets - The Story of Wikileaks
And Stories We Tell - could well be ineligible
