Here at Dogwoof we tend to attract a lot of attention for our innovative distribution strategies, with our schemes such as Popup Cinema and Dogwoof TV, and our latest, Dogwoof Global, which has been going from strength to strength.
Dogwoof Global is a consultancy based service designed to help documentary filmmakers promote and sell all their film rights globally. We aim to represent just a few films a year, so that we can have a closer, and more collaborative relationship with the filmmakers.
Girl Model follows a complex supply chain between Siberia and Japan, within the modelling industry, told through the eyes of a scout and a 13 year-old model. The film premiered a few weeks ago at the Toronto International Film Festival, and has already been selected for the Rio, Abu Dhabi and Rome International Film Festivals as well as CPH Dox in Denmark and IDFA in Holland.
The reaction has been superb, heaping praise both from film critics and the festival audience. Indiewire called it 'A Brilliant Exposé of a Dangerous Business' and it topped their critics list from Toronto, whilst The Hollywood Reporter labelled it 'engrossing', and the film was also celebrated in Variety. t has already picked up a distribution deal in Australia and is attracting an extraordinary amount of attention from broadcasters. We are releasing the film, here in the UK and in Irish cinemas, in February 2012. You can find out more on Girl Model on the films website
Information on other titles we are distributing through Dogwoof Global, including How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr Foster?, can be found on the Dogwoof Sales website - keep your eyes peeled for more titles coming soon!
